Conduct Articulated Haul Truck Operations

This nationally recognised unit, RIIMPO337E Conduct articulated haul truck operations, provides the skills and knowledge required to safely operate an articulated haul truck in civil construction and resources environments.

This unit may be completed as a standalone course or combined with other selected civil construction units.

Training covers planning and preparing for operations, pre-start and operational checks, safe vehicle operation, loading, hauling and dumping materials, shutdown procedures and basic operator maintenance.

Course Delivery

Training is delivered through a combination of:

• prescribed pre-course learning
• trainer-led face-to-face training and practical activities
• practical training using an articulated haul truck
• theory and practical assessment

Pre-course learning is completed before attending the practical training component and prepares learners for the face-to-face training and assessment activities.

Assessment

Assessment includes knowledge questions and practical demonstration of articulated haul truck operations. Learners are required to demonstrate safe operation across the tasks and conditions required by the unit.

Outcome

On successful completion, learners receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for the nationally recognised unit Conduct articulated haul truck operations.
